Glorious Good God

“O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.”  (Psalm 34:8)

“For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.”  (Psalm 100:5)

Queen Esther and Mordecai trusted the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.  They fasted, with the Jews of Shushan, and cried out with a loud and bitter voice.

(Esther Chapter 4)

They believed God would answer them.

“The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.  He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.”  (Psalm 145:18-19)

Choose Your God

“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:” (Deuteronomy 30:19)

“For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.  For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the Lord made the heavens.  Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.”  (Psalm 96:4-6)

“But the Lord is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.  Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.  He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.”  (Jeremiah 10:10-12)

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected endThen shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.  And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”  (Jeremiah 29:11-13)

Everyone has to choose which God or god(s) to serve.  Refusal to make a choice is a choice.  There are two choices. God Creator of the heavens and the earth.  The Torah and Holy Bible are authored by Him.  He inspired men to write the Word of God by the Holy Spirit.  The other choice is all other idols and false gods, including but not limited to:  greed (love of money, things, etc.), power, lust, hate, rebellion, destruction, evil and pride. There is only one true and living God.  Many unbelievers have sought to prove the Bible is untrue.  History proves that many found that they were wrong.  The skeptics learned that God is alive!  God is good!  Subsequently, they became believers.  I encourage you to conduct your own research.

Sin and Separation:  Spiritual Death

Every person has said, thought and done bad or evil things.  God calls our wrong words, thoughts and deeds sin.  The result of sin is spiritual death or separation from God.  Every single one of us was born with a sin nature that we inherited from Adam.  The human heart is corrupt.  God created Adam and Eve. Adam was the first man and the father of all humankind. God placed Adam and Eve in paradise called the Garden of Eden.  They were naked and not ashamed.  Adam and Eve were made to live forever.  (Genesis 2:7-25)

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”  (Proverbs 14:12)

Satan: The Serpent

The serpent (also called the devil and thief) deceived Eve.  Both Adam and Eve believed the serpent’s lies instead of the Word of God.  They rebelled.  Consequently, God pronounced punishment and curses upon all three:  the serpent, Adam and Eve.  God also banished Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden.

When Adam disobeyed God, sin entered the human race.  At the precise moment Adam and Eve sinned they died spiritually. They were separated from God.  The oneness and pure fellowship that they enjoyed with each other and God ended.  All their body functions changed.  They began to have ungodly thoughts.  They began to age.  (Genesis 2:16-3:1-24)

The entire earth also changed.  Some animals now prey upon and must kill other animals for food.

“For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.”  (Romans 8:22)

Sin Debt Settled: Substitutionary Death

It is impossible for sinful man to fix his sin problem. God also suffered loss due to our sin.  He wants people who will love him.  God wants a family.   He wants us to choose Him.  God in His infinite grace and mercy provided the way for us to be in right standing with Him.  He sent Jesus, the second man and last Adam, (1 Corinthians 15:45-48) to live a sinless life and die for our sins.  Jesus suffered and died the most horrendous death, crucifixion, for the sins of everyone.  Jesus died the death that we deserved.  He did not deserve to die.  God designed and ordained a divine substitution.

“For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.” (1 Corinthians 15:22)

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23)

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”  (Romans 6:23)

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;”  (1 Timothy 2:5)

I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.” (Song of Solomon 2:1)

Sacrifice and Stripes

After celebrating the Feast of  Unleavened Bread Jesus endured betrayal by Judas one of his 12 disciples.  He also suffered terrible mocking, assaults, and beatings, at the hands of Roman and Jewish officers and soldiers. Read about the arrest, trial, crucifixion, resurrection and ascension of Jesus.  It is recorded in the four gospels of the Bible:  Matthew 26:47 – 28:20; Mark 14:43 – 16:20; Luke 22:47 – 24:53 and John 18:12 – 19:27.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”  (Romans 5:8)

Jesus said.  “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”  (John 15:13)

“For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

Swallowed Up In Victory:  Death

“So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.  O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?... But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”  (1 Corinthians 15:54-55,57)

Summary: Saved, Sinking in Sin and Shame Stops

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.  For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.”  (Romans 10:9-12)

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”  (2 Corinthians 5:17)

Sole Soul Solution

“That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:  For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.” (Acts 17:27-28)

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”  (Jeremiah 33:3)

"Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” (Matthew 10:16)

Jesus spoke.  “And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”  (Luke 18:27)

Sovereign Sphere

God is holy.  He is infinitely, completely, absolutely perfect in love, glory power, justice, anger and everything.  He is holy in nature and character.  There is no error in Him.  God wants us to be like Him.  He wants us to submit to Him.  In His presence we realize our uncleanness and shortcomings. It is in His presence that we experience beautiful life more glorious than the most wonderful thing or place that you have ever seen or experienced.

“Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”  (Luke 15:10)

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”  (Psalm 16:11)

“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.”  (Jude 24-25)

I want to go to heaven! What should I do?

Repent of my sins.  Confess that Jesus alone, can save us from the penalty of our sins and sin nature.  Believe in my heart that Jesus died on the cross to pay the price for our sins.  Believe that God the Father, on the third day after Jesus was crucified; physically raised him from the dead.

Speak For Eternal Security

(Surely, Smartest Decision Ever.)

LORD Jesus, I realize that I am not perfect.  I have made mistakes and sinned against your holiness.  I believe that you died on the cross for me.  You paid the price for my sins.  Please forgive me.  I believe that you rose from the dead.  Come into my heart.  Bless me with your salvation.  Help me to live for you; to reflect your light and beauty in the world.  Thank you for your love and favor.

Smile.  Welcome into the family of God!  You will enter into the pearly gates!  You have eternal life, love, joy, peace, rest, beauty and splendor beyond human comprehension.  And you are never alone.

“Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”  (Psalm 37:4)

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.  Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” (Matthew 28:18-20)
